You have this tendency to LOVE talking about what you plan to do. I’m gonna learning programming! I’m gonna learn to dance salsa! I’m gonna learn blah blah blah blah.
Every time you tell someone what you’re ‘gonna’ do, you don’t do it. They say that you should tell ALL your friends to keep you “accountable.” Well every time you do that, you actually don’t do the work. Plus, you get embarrassed for not following through on what you ‘plan’ to do.
So from now on, don’t tell anybody what you plan to do. Tell people what you’ve finished. What you’ve done. Whenever you ‘plan’ to do something in your head, just start doing it. Anybody that asks you ‘how you’re doing’ or ‘what’re you up to’, just give the boring response:
You know? The usual.
I’m doing well. How about yourself?
No need to fuel your ego and make yourself look like an ‘interesting’ person. Keep your grind under the wraps. An artist doesn’t show people their half-finished work. Neither do they show work they haven’t done yet. Show when it’s ready.
